Centred on accessible education, it brings together students, artists, educators, technologists and partners to explore how spatial audio is made, experienced and shared.

The team is searching for enthusiastic volunteers to support the success of the event. Please complete this form and select the areas you are interested in. Volunteers receive yummy meals during their shifts along with a tote bag. Anyone completing two or more shifts also receive a hoodie.

Join Catalyst and The Kusp for a live panel discussion exploring the power of storytelling in advertising through the eyes of creative practitioners shaping the field today.

From visual direction to copywriting, campaign strategy to branded content, storytelling sits at the heart of it all. But the process of building a resonant, emotionally engaging narrative in a commercial setting is rarely straightforward.

  • When: Wednesday 25 March, 18:30-20:30
  • Where: Catalyst Social Stage (by the ground floor kitchen)
  • RSVP: on Eventbrite here

This event brings together three panellists working across the advertising landscape, each representing a distinct creative pathway:

  • Julian Pestal creative strategist and founder of Markenkunst, blending bold branding with artistic vision for clients like Uber and Jung von Matt.
  • Julian SpillnerBerlin-based director bringing a photographic eye and dry humour to commercials for eBay, Spotify and more.
  • Tracey GudwinTV director, writer and senior creative producer with 20+ years’ experience across major brand campaigns for Visa, Babbel and KAYAK and German television.

Moderated by Amos Eretusi, founder & managing director of The Kusp, the session will explore both the artistic and professional sides of storytelling in advertising, including:

  • How real-world campaigns are developed from creative idea to final execution
  • Diverse roles and entry points for emerging creatives in the commercial media space
  • The importance of representation and access in shaping the future of advertising
  • The evolving relationship between education and industry

Whether you’re a film or media student, a budding screenwriter or designer, or a professional seeking fresh perspectives on creative career routes, this is your chance to engage directly with working practitioners, ask questions and build connections.

This event is free and open to all students, creatives and professionals. Please register on Eventbrite to secure your place.
