I am sure that most of you will have been following the news with regard to the spread of Coronavirus and the various measures which are being taken by governments around the world.
With the information that we have as of 12th March 2020, dBs Berlin are planning to stay fully open. However the situation in Germany is fast changing and we are taking steps to be ready for all eventualities.
If the German government decides to close all educational institutions including schools and colleges but allows core services to remain open we propose to do the following:-
All 1st and 2nd year classes will be suspended and rescheduled.
All 3rd year and M.A classes will be delivered through online tutorials.
Bookable time and equipment will remain available.
All core admin and support services will remain available although we will operate with only a small team onsite with all others available online.
Each class will have at least one weekly online tutorial in order to keep in touch with developments.
We have already been in touch with our UK university partner and we will make adjustments to hand in dates for project work if and where necessary.
It is important to emphasise that these actions are being taken to contain or delay the impact of the spread of the virus. Assuming you have no underlying conditions, all data suggests that as young adults the risk to your own health if you catch Coronavirus is very low and at worst you will suffer mild to moderate flu like symptoms.
You will receive further information from us at the beginning of next week regarding operating procedures whilst we remain fully open. If anything changes as a result of new government advice we will be in touch. With questions or updates about your state of health please email covid19.info@dbsberlin.net.
Stay safe
