How does the lockdown apply to Catalyst?

As of this writing the newly decided lockdown does not change the previous measures which apply to all universities and adult education centres, these measures were last updated on Dec 1st 2020 and include exceptions for art, music, and other practical education centres.

The new lockdown measures impact elementary and high schools (K-12), which must move to online formats and are closed to the public for the duration of this period (with exceptions in some cases).

Are we open during the lockdown?
We will remain open for bookable time during this period. We ask that you kindly respect the intention of this lockdown by reducing the contact you have with others while on campus. Please continue to follow all hygiene protocol.

Technicians and any core team members may continue to work in Catalyst offices however we recommend that anyone who has the ability to work from home do so during this period.

Have booking rules changed?
Yes. The following is a list of all adjustments:
- All studio bookings must be made through Siso ahead of your arrival on campus. This means students will not be able to do ad-hoc bookings.
- Room booking quotas will be doubled until 10.01.2021.
Equipment booking quotas remain the same.

- External guests are only permitted if they are artists or production crew for recording sessions or film productions and must adhere to all Catalyst hygiene protocols and government regulations. It is not possible to bring external guests for Etikett bookings.

I’m travelling over the holidays. What do I need to know?

If you are travelling to a known risk area (click here for a list of up to date risk areas) you must observe the mandatory quarantine period upon your return. Currently this is 10 days from the date of arrival, however this period can be shortened by taking a corona test 5 days after your arrival if the result is negative.

All travellers entering Germany must now registers before entry on this website https://www.einreiseanmeldung.de/#/

If you have travelled to a risk area please send the safety coordinator (nathaniel@catalyst-berlin.com) an email in which you include the following details:

  • Date of return in Germany

  • Risk Area visited

  • Quarantine period observed or 5 day quarantine period with a negative test result (please include the negative test result)
