Where: EMP Lab
Alma Ernst is a Senior Agent at LittleBig Agency with over 30 years experience as a booking agent, artist manager, promoter, and label owner. In this talk, Alma will guide you through the first steps of representing yourself in the music industry, shining light on questions you should be asking yourself, and understanding what the different key players in the industry are looking for when coming across your profile. The session will cover questions such as:
- Who are the key people in the industry and what are their respective roles?
- What are the different terms I need to be aware of when dealing with key people in the industry, and how should I best communicate with them?
- When is the right time for representation and how to find the best match?
- Preparing your pitch and addressing it in the most impactful manner.
As part of this presentation, Alma will review some of the industry pitches that were submitted by students (submissions now closed). Regardless of whether your pitch is selected, this feedback and discussion will be invaluable to all!
