Haus des Rundfunks Berlin

Get ready for an elaborate evening as Catalyst once again partners with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin. Join us for an interdisciplinary exploration through text, dance, symphonic and electronic music, as we explore questions of origin and homeland in this second performance of the sixth concert in RSB’s "Mensch, Musik!" series.

Our very own MA tutor Richard Scott takes the stage within a programme that includes renowned composers such as Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Bohuslav Martinů, Ursula Mamlok, George Walker, and Dai Fujikura. With his unique electronic composition using a modular synthesizer, Richard Scott seamlessly bridges the evening program, creating a captivating blend of contemporary and electronic music.

After the performance stay for a drink and to interact with the site-specific installation “Who do you think you are” in the foyer of the Der Große Sendesaal, created by Catalyst Creative Production (Music) MA students, Connor Oman and Joshua Mellard.

In order to make the magic of symphonic music tangible even for those who have had little contact with it so far, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin has been exploring new, surprising paths since 2021 with the "Mensch, Musik!" series. Responsible for text, concept and realisation, the artist duo tauchgold combines the work of artists from different genres into a new, exciting whole. Three conductors lead the RSB out of the familiar concert business and into interdisciplinary performance. The RSB is the first large orchestra to take this experimental path.
